Heritage Rail Inspection

Autonomous, light weight and cost-effective rail inspection vehicle, designed for the heritage railway industry.

What is Rail Rover?

The Rail Rover project was born out of a desire to improve the affordability and accessibility of time saving, innovative equipment for the heritage rail sector.

Heritage railways are generally run by groups of dedicated volunteers and by nature are usually both fiscally and time poor. These organisations can’t afford to purchase expensive railway equipment which then increases the manual tasks that need to be completed by volunteers.

Rail Rover aims to provide a cost-effective, autonomous track inspection vehicle that can be dismantled and transported to location in the boot of a standard car then reassembled without specialised tools.

Our Mission & Values

To design and build a safe, affordable, and easily transportable modular railway inspection vehicle that empowers volunteer heritage railways to maintain their track infrastructure efficiently, preserve historical operations, and ensure the long-term sustainability of heritage rail organisations.
